John, just borrow some factory pipes and go to the other test station in town and get the retest. The next person who tests the car will quite likely never even mention it. If they do, then the burden of proof should be on the test facility. How the heck would they know that you didn't simply reinstall the original pipes the car came with? Where in the law does it say they have to be new, shiny and with a receipt? No other emission component carries that burden, from EGR valves to fuel caps. No other repair to any other system in order to pass the test is under such scrutiny. I understand the future mod plans, but for now just get the Smog Nazis off your case.
